Time To Talk Day 2025

Time to Talk Day is the nation’s biggest mental health conversation. It’s a day for friends, families, communities and workplaces to come together to talk, listen and change lives.
. Time to Talk Day is run by Mind and Rethink Mental Illness, in partnership with Co-op and delivered by See Me with SAMH (Scottish Action for Mental Health), Inspire and Time to Change Wales. We want everyone to feel comfortable talking about mental health. Explore this site for ideas on how to take part in Time to Talk Day, from organising an event in your local library or hosting a lunch and learn session, to simply sharing information on social media or texting a friend.
Time to Talk Day At Medlock
To start off our week our pupil leaders led an assembly for years 1-6 introducing time to talk day and what it is. ~They presented a slide show each taking turns to speak
Later on in the morning some of our year 6 students visited Brunswick Village along with our community pioneers and met with 7 ageing well group members. Our students and the members from Brunswick village each took a memorable object or photo to share to help prompt conversation. The students sat down with one of the residents, enjoyed tea, juice and biscuits.
Some of the residents said
"The visit we had today with pupils from Medlock was brilliant. I had such a good time talking to a lovely girl from Year 6. They have big dreams and need to keep hold of them, never lose sight of what they want" - Mary Murphy, Brunswick Village resident.
"I thoroughly enjoyed talking to the children from Co-op Academy Medlock today, what a treat! It was so lovely chatting with the younger generation, making connections and getting to know what they have been up to" - Pam, Brunswick Village resident.
Having this relationship with Brunswick Community Village is a great way of getting together especially on ‘Time To Talk Day’. Giving some a chance to socialise and speak about their lives and giving our students a chance to succeed together and to see we all have different lives and experiences but by working together we can do what matters most.
